Junior LeagueThe junior league is for bowlers age 8 to 18.
Bowlers bowl 3 games each week. While we have had teams of 3 or 4 bowlers in the past, we made a change last year to not having teams. With small teams, lots of other commitments and weather issues that cause bowlers to miss sessions, record keeping and fair comparisons became very difficult. Instead, bowlers will bowl for 22 weeks to practice and develop their skills. They will bowl together and with different bowlers every week, but they will not be competing against each other in the sense of wins and losses each week. The last week of the season will be a single-elimination tournament. Bowlers will be randomly pitted against each other, with the winner moving on to the next round. The tournament was quite exciting this past season, and many of the bowlers said how nervous they were. There were some really good games bowled in the tournament. We look forward to the tournament at the end of this season.
If a bowler must miss a session, it is possible to prebowl or postbowl for the missed session. Bowlers must pay the full $7.00 fee for any week missed, but can make up the missed weeks at any time.
There is a fee of $10 per bowler for the USBC sanction. This will cover the sanction card and the cost of patches (awards for the bowlers) that must be paid for by the local association. USBC no longer provides patches or other awards as part of the sanction fee. There is no option to get a youth bowling jersey this year.
